      The purpose of the Adapted Physical Education National Standards project was to ensure that physical education for children with disabilities be delivered by a qualified Adapted Physical Educator. In order to meet this purpose a set of 15 national standards representing the content a qualified Adapted Physical Educator must know to do their job. Throughout the book are references to S1, S2, S3, S4, or S5. These refer to: A. offensive and defensive plays B. the five national physical education standards C. five strategies for planning effective lessons D. technology tips throughout the book.

(NASPE ) not only provide a focus for beginning physical education teachers to positively influence the teaching-learning process as a pre-service teacher candidate, but may.
